Dr. Wassim Al Balkhy, the Founder of CoLeanIT, is a Civil Engineer based in Lille, France, with over 15 years of diverse international experience. His expertise spans engineering, construction, manufacturing, education, research, and project execution across governmental, NGO, and private sectors in Europe and the Middle East.
Dr. Al Balkhy's comprehensive skill set is rooted in a career that includes roles as a Lean Expert, Civil Engineer, Project Manager, Project Coordinator, Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant, Grant and Fundraising Manager, and University Lecturer and Researcher. This varied background allows him to:
Drive Efficiency: Advise on implementing Lean and Lean 4.0 principles and digital innovation, supported by his professional expertise and his PhD in Civil Engineering and MSc in Engineering Project Management.
Secure Resources: Lead the full funding lifecycle, specializing in grant writing, strategic opportunity identification, and consortium building.
Ensure Accountability: Design and deploy robust Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) systems to guarantee project performance and compliance.
A recognized authority, Dr. Al Balkhy has authored over 35 peer-reviewed publications (available at Google Scholar) and serves as a founding board member of the French Lean Construction Institute. His achievements include leading efficiency programs across R&D, construction, and manufacturing, coordinating European projects with 150+ partners, and training more than 300 professionals and students. He has also managed large-scale engineering projects, designed academic and corporate training programs, and served on organizing and scientific committees for various global conferences and workshops.
